Leila and Issam
(sold)
I remember so clearly how, on those long summer days, my parents would arrive from the city to the village—carrying with them the scent of heat laced with exotic goodies… passing through the gate of bliss-hood.
I feel a quiet sadness knowing my kids may never feel that same magic—so immersed are they in this new world of non-mysterious commodities.
There is no oasis, after all, without a desert.
Going Back Home
(50cm x50cm , Acrylics)
When words leave my children's minds—
flowing through their mouths into the world—
they arrive in my ears, transformed.
Not as mere sounds, but as an ethereal wave,
soothing and warm,
slipping into my heart with the softness of a lullaby,
each syllable steeped in a rare elixir of life.
Two Families

One has to trust that sooner or later... it will be afternoon
family standing
(70cm x50cm, acrylics)
Shutting oneself in a room with clear glass —
or settling into a neat, cozy café with wide windowpanes,
soft music curling through the air,
the bittersweet aroma of coffee mingling with curated perfumes —
is a comforting image, a daily refuge.
But just beyond the glass,
the café overlooks a grimy street,
where sweaty pedestrians shuffle by with hunched shoulders,
civilians worn thin by the weight of chasing time,
barely making ends meet,
barely catching up to the clock that always ticks one step ahead.
